We were thrilled to join other trade professionals at Goedhuis Waddesdon Collection Tasting in London. With more than 160 wines on display from a diverse array of producers, many of which are exclusive to Goedhuis Waddesdon, it was an incredible opportunity for all of us to discover new favourites from some of the world’s most renowned wine regions.

We had the chance to taste extraordinary wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy, including the latest range from Domaine Jacques Dury, alongside 19 standout selections from the legendary Penfolds portfolio. Also on show were Tuscan treasures from Grattamacco and Canalicchio di Sopra, as well as an impressive array of cuvées from the Rothschild wine collection.

Set against the stunning backdrop of St John’s Church Waterloo, just minutes from Waterloo Station, the day was filled with unlimited tasting samples and valuable insights from producer representatives and Goedhuis Waddesdon knowledgeable team.

Our wine tasting experience was not only enjoyable but also instructive, thanks to the thoughtful planning of four distinct Tasting Routes that guided us through some of the must-try wines from Goedhuis Waddesdon’s extensive portfolio.
The Blur Route: The Rothschild Legacy
We began with the iconic wines from the Rothschild family estates, where every glass told a story of tradition, diversity, and excellence. Each vintage reflected why the Rothschild name is so closely associated with fine wine. From the finesse of Château Lafite Rothschild to the elegance of Château Duhart Milon, this route was a tribute to the legacy that has set the standard for the wine world.
The Pink Route: Bordeaux & Burgundy Journey
Next, we immersed ourselves in the rich history and world-class reputation of Bordeaux and Burgundy. We sampled complex reds, including bold Cabernet Merlot blends from Bordeaux, and explored the nuanced elegance of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from Burgundy. Every sip spoke of these regions’ unwavering dedication to terroir and craftsmanship.
The Green Route: New World Wonders
The Green Route introduced us to the vibrant, daring wines of the New World. We spoke with producers who poured their creativity and passion into wines that burst with bold, distinctive flavors. From the bright, fruity notes of California to the rich, full-bodied expressions from Australia and South America, we were blown away by the rising stars and the exciting potential of these regions.
The Orange Route: The Essential Experience
We wrapped up our tasting journey with the Orange Route, which highlighted the finest selections from the Goedhuis Waddesdon Essential List. These wines offered exceptional value without compromising on quality, perfect for elevating everyday drinking. We found hidden gems here, proving that you don’t need a special occasion to enjoy truly remarkable wine.
Whether it was the timeless classics or the innovative New World offerings, this tasting was a true celebration of wine’s diversity, history, and craftsmanship. We left not only with new favourites but also with a deeper appreciation for the stories behind each bottle.
