Gourmet Food Club team attended the Milano Wine Week Masterclass Programme in London. We started with Consorzio dell’Asti e del Moscato d’Asti DOCG online masterclass via Zoom and in person tasting at 67 Pall Mall. It was a pleasure to connect with our Italian friends after such a long time and sample a comprehensive selection of sparkling wines from the first UNESCO winemaking district in Italy.
We followed with Bubbles with Berlucchi Franchiacorta were we sampled just four vintages and they were all superb. All in all it was an entertaining and informative presentation and with added bonus of having a chance to virtually meet the Berlucchi winemakers. We tried 61 Brut, 61 Rose, 61 Nature 2014 and Palazzo Lana Riserva 2009.
And finally: 2016 – Versanti by Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino masterclass to complete a very interesting week. We liked the formula of online presentations, now we have technology to provide a good immersive experience and reduce travelling time and expenses for the producers. Of course as long as we can still individually taste the wines!
