A fantastic feast at Narbona Wine Lodge near Carmelo in Uruguay. After lunch we toured the cellars and vineyard.

Narbona winery covers an area of 50 hectares and is located in the space of the original farm. This dates back to 1909 when Juan de Narbona founded one of the first wineries in the country. Cellar, farm, restaurant and lodge all in one – it’s one of a kind and utterly charming. The restaurant serves delicious peasant cuisine, and occupies a former grocer’s shop where the wooden shelving and counter have been preserved. The food was accompanied by the excellent Narbona Pinot Noir 2013 – all enticements to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
